We run a professional wildlife removal business operating in Taylors, South Carolina. We service the whole Greenville metropolitan area, and do much of our work in Taylors. We are a full-service Taylors animal trapping and removal company. We specialize in wildlife only, and are not like a regular Taylors pest control company or Taylors exterminator. We use humane methods to solve wild animal problems in South Carolina. We solve the root of the problem, by performing home repairs to keep animals out, and preventative measures in addition to critter trapping and removal. We offer a variety of services, from animal damage repair to waste cleanup, dead animal removal and odor control, and more. We handle several nuisance wildlife species, including squirrels, raccoons, snakes, skunks, and opossums. We also perform bat removal and bird control services, and rodent control, including poison-free mouse and rat removal. Taylors wildlife control tip of the month:

How to catch a raccoon with a snare pole

A raccoon can be a real pesky bugger for Taylors animal control to get away from your home. These creatures like to nestle up in some secluded place during the day and then come out at night to cause a mess and leave a mess before returning to the safety of their little hidden retreat. This can make getting rid of them fairly difficult for Taylors wildlife removal.

Sometimes you may notice exactly where the raccoon is and have the chance to get rid of it quickly and easily. This can be done with a snare pole, but must be done with extreme caution. These little guys are quite dangerous when they are cornered, and they carry a lot of diseases, such as rabies, so you have to be careful at all times.

If you have a snare pole then you will need to get it. If you do not have one or know how to make one then you should stop immediately and get help from Taylors pest control. This is a task that requires some skill and if you have none then handling a wild animal is not the place to begin your first lesson.

Taylors exterminators would begin by getting the raccoon in an area that makes it tough to escape from. If you are in the open it will simply run away from you, and that will not allow you to catch it. Make sure that before you begin that you are wearing heavy duty gloves and have all your skin covered. Taylors animal trapping does not want you to be bit or scratched in case things go awry.

Once you have it cornered or nearly cornered then it is time to begin. Keep the raccoon in front of you the whole time. Do not allow it to get behind you or out of your vision at all. This is essential.

Slowly start to move the snare noose toward the raccoon. Make sure that you do not use jerky movements. Keep yourself as calm and patient as you can be. You are aiming for the raccoon’s neck so slowly move the noose toward the neck until you have it dangling about 7-10 inches from the raccoon’s head.

Once you are in position it will time to act quickly now. When you have lined the noose up with the raccoon’s head, then quickly lunge it over its head and pull the snare tight. To get better control, Taylors animal control lifts the raccoon slightly off the ground and hold tight. You will cut off its air supply briefly which will render it comatose in about a minute and then you can remove it.
